    Adam Cracknell

    Our coaching staff is led by Desert Ice Hockey founder/owner Adam Cracknell. Still playing professionally after 21 seasons, he brings over 1300 pro games from the NHL, AHL, KHL and Team Canada Olympics to our coaching program. Learn more about Coach Adam here.

    Tyson Empey

    Coach Tyson is OFF for Summer 2026! He looks forward to spending his summer in Canada with his wife Kendall, son Graysen and new baby girl, Parker. We look forward to having him back in Summer 2027.

    Coach Tyson began his career with four years of NCAA hockey at SUNY-Geneseo. His professional career includes two seasons with the Tucson Roadrunners and one season with the Hershey Bears during their Calder Cup-winning season in 2024. Coach Tyson played the past two seasons with the Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets.

    Jan Jenik

    Drafted 65th overall by Arizona in 2018, Jenik brings five seasons and nearly 300 games of NHL and AHL experience to Desert Ice Hockey. He has represented both the Coyotes and Ottawa Senators organizations on hockey’s biggest stage. He also represented his home country of Czechia at World Juniors in 2019 and 2020. Jan is now part of the LA Kings organization playing for the Ontario Reign. Jan will join Desert Ice in Tempe for our on-ice camp days in June and July.

    Tatum Provencher

    Originally from Glasgow, Montana, Coach Tatum is a Forward for the University of Arizona Wildcats NCAA Women’s Hockey Team. Coach Tatum has Captained all of her hockey teams since high school, going All-State and to Nationals with Wyoming 19U before she began her collegiate career at Lake Region State College in North Dakota in 2023, transferring to UA in December of 2025. Coach Tatum is an obsessive PWHL fan and has extensive experience coaching youth hockey camps. She has a blast working with the kids and is an exceptional mentor for young girls in hockey.

  • Joshuah Romeike UA coach

    Joshuah Romeike

    Coach Josh is an Assistant Coach for the University of Arizona Wildcats NCAA Men’s Hockey Team. Originally from Spokane, WA, he played in the WHL as a goaltender for the Prince George Cougars as well as the Tri-City Americans. Known for his relentless work ethic and effort, Coach Josh loves to grow the game and cultivate the same mentality to developing players. Desert Ice Hockey is proud to have Coach Josh as our in-house pro Goalie coach.
