At Desert Ice Hockey, athletes will train both on-ice and off-ice to ensure that they are ready for their next hockey season! On-ice drills will take place on synthetic ice, while off-ice drills will take place in a gym. Athletes will also learn about the mental aspect of the game, recovery, and nutrition from professional athletes and coaches.

In Tucson, arrive in gym attire with good athletic shoes. Bring a water bottle, your skates, shinpads, helmet, gloves and stick. For half day programs, bring a nutritious snack. For full-day programs, bring two snacks and lunch.
In Tempe, bring all regular hockey gear, gym attire, good athletic shoes, shower supplies, and a water bottle. Snacks and lunch are provided.
All Desert Ice Hockey athletes should wear comfortable athletic clothes in line with a usual hockey practice or off-ice conditioning session.

Synthetic ice is a polymer surface designed to replicate the feel of skating, passing, and shooting on real ice. All athletes can (and should!) wear their regular hockey skates when practicing on this surface.

We offer training for U10 (ages 8-9) U12 (ages 10-11) U14 (ages 12-13). Outside these age ranges? Let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. More age groups will be added subject to interest. We offer private lessons to all ages!

Yes! Goalies in Tucson will experience hundreds of shots to develop reaction skills, in addition to the same off-ice conditioning as other players.
Goalies on-ice in Tempe will enjoy Goalden Hour, an extra hour of morning training with a pro goaltending coach prior to each day’s first full-camp skate session (subject to number of goaltender registrants).
